Carolyn Cashworth, MDWELCOME….We are pleased to welcome you to our practice. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you have a sick child who needs to be seen by the doctor, please call as early as possible, as children are seen by appointment only. For check-up appointments (well baby and well child physicals), please call in advance, or make your next appointment when you are here for a well child visit.

I share call with four other pediatricians – Doctors George Eastman, Peter Sherrod, Scott Katz and Russell McDonald. Each Saturday there is a doctor in one of the offices from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for sick children only. Please call early for these appointments. When our office is closed, our office phone will always have a taped message stating when our office will reopen and for Saturday coverage indicating which Doctor is on call and their number.

If you find it necessary to call after hours for an urgent problem, we will return your call as soon as possible. We do not have voicemail service. After hour medical advice is provided by pediatric registered nurses through "On Call For Kids". Their number is 972-632-2552. There is a charge for all after hour nurse calls.

PAYMENT….Payment is required at the time service is rendered. If this is not possible, our office manager will make specific financial arrangements with you prior to your office visit. For your convenience, Master Card, Visa and Discover are accepted. For non-emergency walk-ins and adding an unannounced additional child to the schedule, there may be an additional $22 surcharge. This does not mean that emergency medical problems will not be seen immediately. Since the definition of "emergency" varies from person to person, a physician will be the judge of what constitutes a medical emergency. To avoid this surcharge, be sure to call in advance of your arrival. Also, please call 24 hours in advance to cancel any scheduled appointment. All no-show appointments for physical exams and medication checks will be charged a "no show" fee.

PHONE CALLS….If you are uncertain whether you need to have the doctor look at your child, or just need advice, please call and ask to speak with the nurse. There will not be a charge for any nurse calls make during normal business hours, only after hour calls. Calls will be returned in the order received in a timely manner. If the call is an emergency, please tell the receptionist so she may give the call to the nurse immediately. The nurses are specially trained pediatric nurses and can answer most questions and give approved advice. If there are problems which exceed their authorized limits, they will consult with the physician.
